Leopards to beat Amazulu?

This weekend marks the start of the league activities for the National First Division (NFD).

Five matches will be played at various places throughout the country tomorrow, while the remaining three will be played on Sunday afternoon. The Thohoyandou-based Black Leopards will undertake a journey to Durban on Sunday. They will meet Amazulu at the Princess Magogo Stadium.

It will be time for Black Leopards to exact revenge for what Amazulu did to them at the same venue last season. Amazulu won the match 2-1. According to the spokesperson of Black Leoaprds, Mr Berry Ramunenyiwa, Lidoda Duvha have much to display in their showroom. He revealed that one of their new recruits is Mumuni Abubakar from Free State Stars. Two of their players who had been out of action for several months due to injury, Leonard Ntshangase and Meshack Maphangule, have fully recovered, but their right back, Marks Munyai, is still not yet ready.

Also on Sunday, Jomo Cosmos will host FC Cape Town at the Olën Park Stadium in Potchefstroom. Cosmos are still battling to acclimatize to life in the NFD after their relegation from the Absa Premiership at the end of last season. Milano United will entertain Witbank Spurs at the Blue Downs Stadium in Cape Town.

The five matches that will be played tomorrow (Saturday) are University of Pretoria vs Cape Town All Stars, Santos vs Mbombela United, Royal Eagles vs Real Kings, Mthatha Bucks vs Stellenbosch FC and the rookies, Magezi FC, vs Thanda Royal Zulu at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
