Tuwani gets role in Muvhango

Tuwani Jessica Nnzeru (23), a local beauty born and bred in Masia village, has landed herself a part in the well-known television soapie, Muvhango. She plays the role of Mususumeli, a domestic servant.

Tuwani is over the moon about this new challenge. She said that her passion for acting began at an early age. “As a child, I would watch television every single day after school. As I watched and imitated my favourite characters, I started dreaming of becoming a world-famous actress,” said Tuwani.

“At age 20 I embarked on a journey to join VMG productions. This is where my skills and acting abilities were sharpened. With time and through effort and inspiration, I started to believe in myself and worked harder. Today I am still as dedicated as always, because my dreams and aspirations are the drivers of my confidence,” said Tuwani.

According to Tuwani, it is good to build strong and solid professional relations with other people that are in the same industry, as they are capable of sharing their past experiences and point out available opportunities. “I enjoy being an actress and I am hoping for bigger opportunities to come my way,” she added.

“In Muvhango I act as a maid. As I have very little experience, it is important for me to be flexible in this industry and allow myself to grow. Yes, I have acted before in other dramas as an extra; however, this is my first big role in television and I plan on making the most of it,” said Tuwani.

She says the main difference between her and ‘Mususumeli’ (the character she plays), is that Mususumeli is a mature lady who minds her own business and does not involve herself in rivalry conflicts, while Tuwani, on the other hand,  is a bubbly and talkative person.

“My plan for 2017 is to work harder than before. Combined with research and more training, I believe that I am capable of greater success. I am currently studying drama as I am driven to believe that every dream is important to its owner,” she said.

Prudence Bopape

The 22-year-old Prudence Bopape from Ha-Masia village joined the Zoutnet newsroom as an intern on the 1st of February 2017. Prudence completed her Bachelor of Arts degree, specialising in communications, at the Northwest University. She is an avid reader and believes that a good reader makes an excellent writer. "I believe that determination is the is the key to excellence,” she says.
