The live-recording performances by two highly talented singers, Putuma Tiso and Sabata Masoka, left fans begging for more.

The event recently took place at The Father's House Ministries International in Mutale. Hundreds of music lovers attended the event. The audience's warm response only attested to the fact that people love live music.

“I was really overwhelmed by the audience's response to my music,” said Putuma, who hailed from Ebesuthwini in Port Elizabeth. She was the first artist to ascend the stage. She sang in English, Xhosa and Tshivenda. When she sang Yehova nga vha rendiwe, and Ebenhezer, the fans got to their feet and joined in song.

The event was characterised by splendid choreography, quality sound and reverberating voices.

Both Putuma and Sabata had decided to record their respective albums in the Vhembe district, after they had noticed that hundreds of fans were travelling all the way from Limpopo to Gauteng and other parts of the country to attend their shows. “Some people always travelled from this side of the country to attend my shows in other provinces, but I thought it was good for me to come to them.”

Sabata featured Thapelo Molomo, while Putuma featured acts such as Rebecca Malope, Benjamin Dube and Ndivhaleni Musetha. “I enjoyed sharing the stage with Putuma,” Ndivhaleni said. “She is a great performer and a highly talented singer.”

Putuma confessed that Benjamini Dube was his father in the music fraternity and that she had taken courage and inspiration from his music. However, Dube praised Putuma and said that she was an excellent singer whose talent will take her to great places.”

Putuma had previously wowed the attention of the many established artists who hired her to do backing vocals for them. Soon she had earned herself much respect from music lovers across the country. She then travelled to European countries and China because of the high demand for her music and performances. Her albums are Putuma (2010, jazz genre) and Jesu Dwala (2016)

Sabata started his music in the church as a young boy and went on to join the multi-award winning group Joyous Celebration 4 in 1999. In the group, he honed his vocal skills and proved his worth.

“I have three previous albums but I had always wanted to do a live recording DVD,” said the resident of Bizana in the Eastern Cape. “I chose Venda to be my host for the project. People love my music and I wanted to honour them by recording the album here.” His previous albums are Umnqamlezo (2004), Ngizoqhubeka (2007) and Izethembiso (2010).
