Gospel artist Ronewa Nthabalala, popularly known as Newie, has been nominated for the fourth edition of the Independent National Gospel Music Awards (Ingoma) that will take place in Johannesburg on 26 August.

Newie has been nominated for the Best Worship Album and Best Producer awards. “I feel so blessed and excited to be nominated. It is a sign that great things are still coming and God is doing something so amazing through my music,” she added.

She received a nomination for her new album, Ngoho vha Murena. The new album is a continuation of the message she conveyed in her debut album, For your Love. The album has 21 tracks, including Ngangoho vha Murena, Mukhethwa, Ri Vhakundi, Muya Mukhethwa Vhusa, U Lulamile and Awesome God.

In some of the songs, she collaborates with artist Tiyani Lens Maluleka. Her album is enjoying good airplay on Phalaphala FM.

She further said that Ngangoho vha Murena focused on God's love and eternal presence. "This song simply tells God who He is in our lives, saying 'indeed, truly, surely you are the Lord'."

Newie was born and raised in Vleifontein. Her passion for gospel music began when she was still young.

To vote for her, SMS Ingomas Best Worship Album Newie to 40439. Unfortunately, the public cannot vote for the best producer album.
