An array of top-selling and well-known gospel artists are lined up as supporting acts for the forthcoming CD launch by singer, songwriter, composer and music producer Rofhiwa Cyril Mamuremi.

Mamuremi (30), known as Cyril in music circles. is to launch his second album, Mukonazwothe, at the Assemblies of God Muledane in Block J tomorrow (Saturday). The launch starts at 17:00.

The album follows his first album, I Love You, which was released in 2010.

Judging by the reception of the album during a listening session, his latest album, which has 17 tracks, is destined for greater things.

According to him, the album is about giving hope and reminding people that God is there for them and He can do all things.

Asked as to why the follow-up thad taken almost seven years, Cyril said he had been busy with other projects and had worked with other established acts such as Benjamin Dube, Lufuno Dagada, Darlene Tharaga and Rofhiwa Manyaga. “While busy working behind the scenes of other artists, I was also busy preparing material for this album. Otherwise I was under no pressure to release an album. As time went on, my fans started asking me as to when the next album would come. I gave so many excuses, but I succumbed, and here I am today with a quality album that will make all my fans happy.”

He added that they had prepared for the launch for a long time and colleagues in the music industry, such as Tiyani, Takie Sikhwivhilu, Rofhiwa Manyaga, Mercy Masakona Madzivhandila, Laughter Mudzielwana and The Real Palesa, would perform in support of him.

Cyril’s manager, Ms Munyadziwa Rejoice Nemauluma, is full of praises for her charge. “This is one of the best artists I have worked with. He understands music in such a way that working with him brought out the best album ever. If you want a fresh breeze in gospel music, this is the album you have been waiting for,” she said.

The album was recorded at The Connect 5 Studios in Vuwani.

For more information about the launch, phone Ms Nemauluma at 072 111 4521.
