Debut album for Masana and Phathu

Two young sisters, Masana (15) and Phathu Siwadawada (11) of Dopeni, recently released their debut album, Rialivhuwa, and it is very popular at local record bars.

The album consists of eight gospel songs, and at this stage, the tracks Mukhethwa, My Fortress, and the title track, Rialivhuwa, are the favourites among the public.

The young ones grew up listening to celebrated musicians such as Thili Maumela, Lufuno Dagada and Benjamin Dube and said that they drew inspiration from these artists.

The songs were composed by Masana in Tshivenda, Sepedi and English.

They said that they would love to perform live, but did not have any musical instruments of their own.

They want to portray the love of God through their music, because the love of God makes them complete. They are worried to see young people consuming liquor and some are using drugs.

According to them, people could have everything they could wish for in life, but without God they would never enjoy life to the fullest.
