Mamafha writes a book on humanity restoration

A young determined author, Phathutshedzo Mamafha, recently published a sterling book, Restoring humanity.

This is his debut publication in book format and it tackles social ills that people face in their daily lives. Therefore,  the blurb states that social ills are the unfortunate norm in this fast-paced, mind-your-own-business environment people find themselves in today.

“We have forgotten our humanness, compassion and love for others, and our innate ability to choose right over wrong,” he said. “How do we bring morality, values and empathy back into our communities?”

His book also borrows from the Biblical verse where it is writtenn: “do to others as you would have them do to you” (Luke 6:31). “If you want others to love, respect and treat you well, you must do the same to them. If you want them to show you their humanity, you must show them yours too,” he stated.

He added that people should not expect the best from others while they were not offering the best to them. “The spirit of ubuntu is perhaps the only blueprint left for healing society of its afflictions,” he said. “This book speaks about how we can use ubuntu and Biblical teachings to restore humanity to human beings. It is an important reminder of the kind of people that we can and were meant to be."

In giving an illustration of reciprocity, he said that the size of the shadow of an object depended on where the light or sun was. He discusses such aspects as seen above, and more, in his book. He invites readers to journey with him in restoring humanity, that is humanness and morality in society.

His book is already creating a stir in the book market. “I keep receiving positive feedback from readers who enjoyed reading the book,” he said. “I have just finished revising my first Tshivenda novel manuscript, entitled Murabeli, which will be published soon.”

Mamafha is a resident of Tshikwarani and he can be reached on 072 103 6902.
