GR Flame strikes a flame of the beat

 

If online music downloads are anything to go by, then GR Chitahela's hit song, Tsholitshedza, is one of the anthems to keep music lovers active on the dance floor this festive season.

The artist, who was born Gift Rambuwani and is popularly known as GR Flame Chitahela, has just reached an outstanding milestone after his song reached a whopping 3278 downloads since it was uploaded online (www.xikulu.com/15962) on 1 December.

“The high volume of downloads only shows the popular status the song is getting out there,” said the artist. “I have all along wanted to record and release a masterpiece of this nature and here I have just achieved what I had dreamed.”

In this song, GR Flame Chitahela has featured heavyweights such as Mizo Phyll, Batondy and Ras Chibenga, and the song was produced by the highly talent producer Adroit Beatz.

The young singer is a hip-hop artist from Madombidzha Zone 2, otherwise referred to as Western. He started singing in 2009 when he released his first single at just at the age of 13, If you have the Lord you can live together, and since then he had released singles such as Mudzimu wanga, Roduma, and Tsetsetse.

However, he shook the music industry late last year with the release of his mega-hit, Chitahela Fhedzi. “People have been supporting my music more than I expected and I appreciate their support,” he said. “My music speaks directly to the mind and compels those listening to it to dance and sing along, only because it's the kind of music to which people can relate. I keep on receiving good, positive reports and messages about the music I do. All those messages only serve to encourage me to carry on doing a good job.”
