Clemour stages pre-Christmas show at Chavani

Well-known entertainer Clemour Ngobeni will be returning to the Vhembe District this holiday for his popular The Night Before Christmas concert. The concert has become an annual event, showcasing some of the best local and national artists.

Clemour needs no introduction; he sang his way into the hearts of many local music fans during the broadcasting of The Voice competition in 2016. He made it all the way to the finals and performed alongside musicians such as Kahn Morbee from the Parlotones and Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

Clemour also believes in giving back to the community where he grew up and, for the past three years, he has organised the charity concert at the Fountains of Life church at Ha-Chabani. This year he brings along a number of exciting artists. “The concert will feature guest artists who were featured on South African Idols & The Voice South Africa, as well as many local South African major and upcoming artists,” he says.

Clemour describes himself as “an entrepreneur, music arranger and live-show producer”. He also started Clemour Music, through which he endeavours to assist other artists. He partnered with Another Chance Foundation to present the Christmas Eve show and a Christmas Gala Dinner for the unprivileged senior citizens of the community at the Waterval Old Age Home. During the gala dinner, gifts will be handed over to the senior citizens and they will be treated to a three-course meal.

“It has always been an honour for us to bring a smile to their faces and to share our love and appreciation to those who have paved the way for our generation. We believe that this has given them a different feel to the meaning of Christmas and we would love to keep doing this year after year,” says Clemour.

The concert at Chavani starts at 17:30 and tickets cost R50 per person. VIP tickets are also available at R120 per person. For more information and bookings, the organisers can be contacted at 071-7628700.
