Newie's national music tour promises fun

Local gospel singer Newie will begin her national music tour on 19 April at Christ Worship House in Shayandima.

She said that the main purpose of the tour was to spread the Gospel of Christ to people through songs. "I want to get in touch with my supporters and to show my appreciation for their support," she added.

She said that all the shows would be having different themes. "The theme for the first one is Zwo Itwa Nga Lufuno (It was out of love). On this day we will be remembering what Jesus Christ did on the cross. I will feature a few artists and have a major surprise for everyone on this day. Everyone who will attend this show will not regret as they will benefit from this surprise that I have," she added.

She said that she had started an initiative called Ndinandavha (I care) that focuses on helping needy people. "I will go around churches doing shows and the money collected from these shows will help the needy. I am partnering with churches and the communities to achieve all this," she added.

During the tour, she will also donate clothes and food to needy people. "We want to make an impact in people's lives, and we believe that one day this initiative will grow bigger and help a massive number of people. So, all these tours will be benefiting the local community and South Africa as a whole," she said.

Some of the confirmed places she will perform in during the tour are: Kutama, Tshirenzheni, Doxa Deo Pretoria, Ferdi Beyers Louis Trichardt, Johannesburg, Polokwane, Musina, and at several places in the North West and Free State.

"The last tour will end on the 21st of December at the SAMI auditorium. I will feature artists such Lufuno Dagada, Tiyani Maluleka, Jabbie, Tee D, and Adie," she said.

On 31 March she will launch her album, No other God but You, at SAMI Tshirenzheni.

For the 19 April event, the tickets are available at Computicket, Shoprite and Checkers. The doors will open at 17:30.

Mbulaheni Ridovhona

The 22-year-old Mbulaheni (Gary) Ridovhona has been passionate about journalism to the extent that he would buy himself a copy of weekly Univen students' newsletter, Our Voice. After reading, he would write stories about his rural village, Mamvuka, and submit them to the very newsletter for publication.
