Meet the presenter of Lunchbox

For the 23-year-old Frank Majestic, to be in the media industry has always been a dream.

Born Innocent Malebagata and hailing from Tshipuseni in Ha-Masia, Frank Majestic is living the dream at Choice FM. He is the Lunchbox presenter, which airs from Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 14:00.

Before joining Choice FM in August 2019, he spent four years at Univen FM.

He fell in love with radio in 2012. "During that time, I started to listen to Capricorn FM and every time I listened, I used to imitate the presenters," he said. Radio presenters DJ Shandu and Paila Chauke are his inspiration.

For one to succeed in this industry, he said, one has to be committed and dedicated. "It's a cut-throat industry. You should not pass up on any opportunity you are afforded because it just might be your jackpot. Be humble and willing to learn every day."

In his view, to be a good radio presenter one must be professional and prepared before going on air. "You must be able to inspire, educate and entertain your audience," he said. He studied for a BA in Media Studies at the University of Venda.

His wish is to be known as one of the best presenters this province has ever produced.

Mbulaheni Ridovhona

The 22-year-old Mbulaheni (Gary) Ridovhona has been passionate about journalism to the extent that he would buy himself a copy of weekly Univen students' newsletter, Our Voice. After reading, he would write stories about his rural village, Mamvuka, and submit them to the very newsletter for publication. His deep-rooted love for words and writing saw him register for a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies at the University of Venda, and joined the Limpopo Mirror team in February 2016 as a journalism intern.
