Clauds is Limpopo's rising star

Claudina Muladelo Ramulondi, affectionately known as Clauds in music circles, believes that music has the power to change people’s beliefs and life in general. 

Clauds, who hails from Ha-Mashamba, started singing at the age of 11 in school and Sunday school choirs. "I have been singing at church ever since I learnt how to sing, but lately I started writing and performing soul, Afro jazz and R&B music," she said. 

Her music is smooth, soothing, and very kind to the ear. She sings about issues that affect people daily, including politics, love, issues in relationships, and her music also serves as an inspiration to those that are going through depression and other emotional stresses. "My music is meant to make people of all ages feel relaxed, motivated and have a positive outlook on life and situations around them," she said. 

Clauds released her debut single, Shango lashu, in December 2019. This single addresses the hotly debated land issue in South Africa. The release of the single has been well received by fans all over South Africa and abroad. The single can be downloaded on all online stores.

The single was followed by an EP, Identity. The EP is comprised of three songs and on one of the songs she features an amazing rapper, Zulu Boy. Clauds's music can be accessed on all digital platforms. 

The mother of two explained that she draws inspiration from well-known artists such as Jonathan Butler, Lalah Hathaway, the late Hugh Masekela, Judith Siphuma and many more. She has been performing at weddings, music festivals and corporate events. Her most notable performance was at the Limpopo Sports Awards held in October 2019.

Fans can expect the release of her new album soon, which features artists such as Lebo Morolo, Zulu Boy and the former South African Idols winner, Karabo Mogane.

Mbulaheni Ridovhona

The 22-year-old Mbulaheni (Gary) Ridovhona has been passionate about journalism to the extent that he would buy himself a copy of weekly Univen students' newsletter, Our Voice. After reading, he would write stories about his rural village, Mamvuka, and submit them to the very newsletter for publication. His deep-rooted love for words and writing saw him register for a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies at the University of Venda, and joined the Limpopo Mirror team in February 2016 as a journalism intern.
