Huge gift for SABC Livhu

“We decided to present SABC Livhu with a car, so that it can help him to continue his good work as a community builder. He did not request it, but we felt that this larger-than-life character should be appreciated while he is still alive. We have seen houses being built for poor people and many community building initiatives fulfilled because of his involvement. His community-building work needs reliable transport and we decided to assist him without expecting anything in return.”

These are the words of Adv Nthambeleni Randitsheni, the managing director of NRand Insurance, after presenting an Audi A4 to the comedian. The presentation took place at Thohoyandou a fortnight ago.

Randitsheni said he was touched by the fact that SABC Livhu dedicated his life to serving the poor. “This guy is one of the unsung heroes whom we should be proud of here in our communities. We have seen him handing over thousands of school shoes, uniforms, and sanitary towels to poor learners here in Vhembe. There are hundreds of families who are getting food parcels in our district because of his involvement. Right now, he is helping in building three houses for poor families around Vhembe. Amazingly, he is doing all this without reliable transport. We felt that we could not just fold our arms while we could see that this young man was sacrificing his life and time to assist less fortunate community members.”

When receiving the key to his car, SABC Livhu, (full names Livhuwani Madadzhe) said he had never thought that his work would be recognized in such an amazing way. “I am just a community builder by nature. I don’t do it for name or fame, but it is fulfilling when you see people recognising you for your good work.”

The comedian, who also runs SABC Livhu Online TV, did not have enough words to thank Adv Randitsheni for his kind gesture. “He is one in a million and I’m humbled by his kindness. Giving someone a car when the world is faced with tough economic times is a blessing on its own. The car is the greatest gift I have ever received in my life. This will motivate me to continue my community-building work without worrying about transport blues.”

He encourages young people not to give up on their dreams. “Don’t allow poverty to define you. Work hard, even if you do not have resources. If you persevere and stay focused, despite negative criticism, success will follow you.”
