Ndivhudzannyi publishes fresh talent

Ndivhudzannyi Madzhie is a good example that when one wants to achieve something, one must go all out for it. She has just started a publishing company that seeks to launch the talents of authentic writers.

A Vhurivhuri Nwiini-based poet and BSc nursing student at the University of the Free State, Ndivhudzannyi said that, after her struggle to find a publisher for her poetry collection, she decided to set up a publishing company and start to publish herself.

“The result is that I publish my work without any delays or struggles,” she said. Her poetry collection, which was eventually published, is entitled Ndi vhudza nnyi?

Ndivhudzannyi, who discovered her writing talent in 2013 when she was in Grade 8, said that after the publication of her poetry collection, she had received emails from writers who wanted her to consider publishing them. “I had struggled for seven years to get my work published, and I don’t wish for any other good writer to go through that,” she said.

She has already published two books; Upside-down by Sebongile Mahlangu, which raises awareness about mental illness, and The Secret by 16-year-old Happiness Ndlovu.

“I am passionate about reading and writing; that is why I am keen to publish more voices,” she said. “Meanwhile, I am actualising myself in life. I am a full-time student, have practises, play soccer and am still pursuing my dreams. Managing my clothing brand, my YouTube-channel, writing, and managing my company is not easy, but matters of the heart are achievable.”

Ndivhudzannyi has launched a YouTube channel known as Madzhie Ndivhudzannyi, where she shares her poems in different languages. People can also follow her on Facebook (Madzhie Ndivhudzannyi) and her Facebook page (Ndi Vhudza Nnyi?)

She can be emailed at [email protected] or contacted at Tel 079 852 2031.
