Dee Cocoa sings for the youth

Dzithendo “Dee Cocoa” Rambuda from Musina’s music is a delight to anyone who has the pleasure of listening to her fresh, authentic songs.

Dee Cocoa is a young hip-hop and Afro-House artist who grew up listening to a variety of music genres. That is why she feels it makes sense to say that, for her, music is all about life.

“I listen to music indiscriminately, and I enjoy it that way,” she said. “Music should give hope to those who have lost hope, and surely motivate those who are in need of motivation.”

She writes her own songs, which truly speak to the heart and touch the soul. She firmly believes that music can have a very big impact on the listener.

She is motivated by singers such as Rihana, Cardi B and Nicki Minaj, because they are young artists whose subject matter she, as a fellow young artist, can relate to. “I started my music career in 2019 with the inspiration from those very singers,” she said.

Since she started with her music career, she has kept on developing her sound and voice. “We need to hear a marked improvement in a singer’s voice quality and the subject matter,” she said. “I keep getting calls from my fans who need more new music from my side, and I always do likewise.”

She encourages other young people to stay focused on the positive side of life and away from crime. “We are living in times where it is easy for youths to be swayed away from the right path of life,” she said. “So, it is important to stay focused and forget about any other activities that do not add value to one’s life.”

Her anthemic song is Forever Love. She is one of the main attractions at local events and is currently working on more songs that will be released on all digital platforms this year. She can be reached on Tel 063 644 2690.
