Book guides young people

Pastor Rufus Maphula, a resident of Lwamondo village in the Tshishushuru area, is a person who believes in sharing knowledge. He published his first book, titled Muswa are na vhuyo (a youth with destiny) Volume 1, way back in 1995. Following the book’s success, Pastor Maphula published Volume 2 the following year.

When asked what inspired him to write books, the 47-year-old motivational speaker said that he wrote the books after realising that the bookshops did not stock books focusing on helping young people to climb the ladder of success. After publishing the two books, Pastor Maphula vanished from the publication industry for almost three decades.

He resurfaced this year with another inspiring book, Youth recipes for greatness. The book is 167 pages long with 22 chapters. Some of the topics covered in the book include maturity versus immaturity in the life of young people, 10 simple ways to disagree without fighting, 13 golden tips for teens and tips for a modern youth to show humanity.

According to him, his road to fame started when he received the Lord at the Agape City Church in 1990. Three years down the line, he migrated to the Calvary Christian Church International under the leadership of Apostle Dr AM Masakona. As a leader of young people in the church, Pastor Maphula revealed that his focus was on grooming, coaching, mentoring, guiding, and counselling the youth both in the church and in schools.

Pastor Maphula said that after reading the book, young people would have a better understanding of themselves and ignite their passion to serve at all leadership levels. The book also discusses the dangers of posting personal details on social media.

According to him, the book is available at most bookshops countrywide. For further information regarding the book, Pastor Maphula can be contacted on 0762172933 or 0614353625.
