Mukololo teams up with DJ Call Me

Mukololo Muimbi’s fans can start polishing their dancing shoes as this talented singer and skilled dancer is back in the studio once again, cooking up a real treat for them. Her upcoming album is due anytime this year, and this time she’s teaming up with heavy-weight producer DJ Call Me.

Mukololo, born Mutshidziwa Makuya, has been beside herself with joy from the moment DJ Call Me agreed to work with her as she had always wanted to work with the producer, who is known to possess that “magic touch” with music.

“We’re working on an explosive album. The melodies and rhythms, coupled with my beautiful voice, will reach every corner of our country and beyond. People everywhere will love it!” she said confidently.

Mukololo, who gained popularity for hits such as Kha-tshi fare, Ariho robva, U kambiwa hu a dura, Magaraba, Ngadeni, Musadzi vhukuma, and Zwiliwa zwa nnda, said that she had fallen in love with music when she was only a toddler. “I grew up in a home where everyone listened to music. There was always music playing on the radio, or someone singing out loud or humming some tunes,” she said.

However, only during a Life Orientation period in school, when the teacher requested her to sing as part of the lesson, did she actually discover her singing talent, and since then she has not looked back. Today, she is a House and Manyalo singer, and continues to find life’s meaning in music.

“I sing about everyday things: love, hatred, unity and peace,” she said. “As people, we need to do away with hatred, vengeance, and all other criminal elements within our communities. There’s more to life than living in disarray. Love conquers.”

This star is known for her unique, lively voice and energetic dance moves as seen on her most recent musical video, Reason dza Million, shot at Makonde Village and Nandoni Riverview.

“Well, commercially, my first breakthrough in the music industry was made a decade ago with the release of my first song, U bvelela,” she said.

Her upcoming album, she revealed at last, is titled Zwipfi zwanga. Translated this means “my feelings” and the Mufhanzi singer said that her fans could prepare themselves for her best work yet. Just to whet their appetites, she said, she might drop a single or two while the album was being completed.
