Mukwevho picks up the pieces and releases new single

When reggae music legend Jahman Chiganja passed away in February 2018, Thendo Mukwevho felt as if his world was crumbling. This was because Mukwevho was in the final preparations of recording an album with the highly respected legend.

Like anyone who loved Jahman Chiganja, Mukwevho’s heart was broken to the core, and he did not have any hope to succeed in the absence of the deceased music star. However, Mukwevho gathered enough courage to resurrect his music career and that was the wisest decision he had ever made in his life. His decision culminated in the recording and release of his single reggae song, titled Coronavirus.

Born in 1992 at Lukalo village, Mukwevho fell in love with music at a very young age. He was an inspiration to his peers both at primary and high school whenever he sang during extramural activities, social gatherings, and music periods.

“Everyone never stopped talking about my beautiful voice and it gave me courage to take music seriously. I launched my career with Jahman Mudengu because we were both inspired by the late Jahman Chiganja,” said Mukwevho.

The promising young artist said that nothing could beat positive thinking. “At one point, I nearly gave up because I thought my career was doomed by the passing of Jahman Chiganja. Fortunately, I met well-known sound engineer and producer Ananias Begwa who, together with Jahman Mudengu, saw potential in me. They both encouraged me to work hard, and we ended up working together for the release of my new single song.”

Mukwevho said his single song was available at all major online stores and he was happy with the huge number of people downloading it. “It is encouraging to note that radio stations are also giving my song airplay and boosts my morale as a young artist. I am working on a full album, which will be released later this year.”

Mukwevho is available on YouTube (Thendo Mukwevho), Facebook (Thendo Mukwevho Muimbi) and on mobile number 072 768 1316.
