Mangalani Mashau Mudau, popularly known as The Diamond Voice, is back on the airwaves at Musina FM.

The former sports presenter seems to be destined to be a part of the radio station's team - this time to host the Morning Drive show from 06:00 to 09:00, Monday to Friday. The show includes weather and traffic updates, entertainment news, sending out birthday wishes, and breaking news. He is also programme manager and compiles songs for one of the station’s other shows, called Tsumbavhuyo.

Mudau started out his career as a sports analyst in 2010 and joined Musina FM in 2015 to present their sports programme until 2017. After that, he moved on to another local community radio station, Nzhelele FM, where he presented the Tourism Safety Monitoring programme. In 2019, he joined Musina FM again until he was fired by the previous management in 2020 because he would not re-apply for the same job he had with the station at the time, as was required from him. When Musina FM re-opened last year after being forced to close for about three months because of cable theft, he jumped right in.

Before joining the media industry, he was employed by the South African National Defence Force, worked as a casual supervisor at a restaurant and then worked as supervisor for the South African Red Cross at Musina Hospital.

Mudau (35) was born in Mashau Bodwe village and grew up in Ha-Mandiwana village, where he sang in a choir and wrote poetry. He later developed a passion for radio and was especially inspired by Phalaphala FM presenters Mr Mashige and Mpho Nefale.

“I love socializing and educating the community - something I believe radio does effectively. This really fuels my passion as a radio presenter,” he said. His advice to aspiring radio DJs: “If you want to become a radio presenter, you must love talking and enjoy joking. Above all, the listeners must be fed the right information,” he said.
