Tshivenda hip-hop fans are excited as Uniswa, also known as the University of Swag, released the highly anticipated Greatest Hits Vol. 2 mixtape last month.

Zwivhuya Nemaungani, co-founder and manager at Uniswa, said the mixtape is not just a collection of songs but a celebration of hip-hop's influence in Venda, featuring some of the most talented independent artists.

Uniswa is an independent music and arts organisation known for supporting and managing talented artists both locally and internationally. The Greatest Hits Vol. 2 mixtape showcases hits from top names such as Mizo Phyll, King Lutendo, and Fizzy.

The mixtape offers a variety of songs, from energetic tracks to deep and thoughtful lyrics about life, love, and culture. Fans have praised the mixtape for its blend of modern beats and traditional storytelling.

Uniswa started in 2012 with the goal of creating a platform to help artists take control of their careers. They have worked with artists such as Osome Feyn, Una Rine, CapableBoyz, Jr Player, Asa Tee, Gusba Banana, Khathu, and Percy Mukwevho. Their mission is to support artists' creativity and ensure their voices are heard.

“This mixtape celebrates the talent, passion, and effort of these artists,” said Nemaungani. “We’re excited to share it with our fans and continue to push boundaries in the independent music world.”

He added, “As an independent group, Uniswa is committed to changing the music industry and supporting artistic freedom. With the release of Greatest Hits Vol. 2, Uniswa proves once again that they are leading the way in innovation.”
