Jail & Bail a huge success

Following last year’s success, the Louis Trichardt SPCA once again hosted their popular carnival, together with their Jailed & Bailed fundraiser on Saturday.

Eight (unlucky) individuals had to be bailed out of their kennels. Their mission was to collect as much bail money as possible to set them free, and raise some much-needed funds for the SPCA. The “prisoners” were Jan Kleynhans (Mike’s Kitchen), Igmar Loock (Grasdak Guest House), Corel Collet, Isabel Venter (Zoutpansberger), Imaan Aboo and Haley Waller from Ridgeway College and Marvelique and Tunelle van der Merwe from Louis Trichardt High School.

All five of them raised more than the required R4 000 bail amount. “Thank you so much for offering your time and contributing to our fundraising for our animals,” said the SPCA.

Apart from the various fun activities, visitors also had the chance to meet the staff and volunteers who work with the SPCA’s animals on a daily basis. Visitors were also allowed to meet the animals at the kennels that are currently up for adoption.

On Wednesday morning, the funds raised still had to be counted, with the total amount expected to be announced early next week.
