Bekende kunstenaar en menseregte-aktivis dood op plaas gevind

Nuus van die dood van bekende plaaslike inwoner Annette Kennealy stuur steeds skokgolwe deur die Soutpansberg.

Volgens beskikbare inligting is Kennealy vanoggend dood aangetref in haar plaaswoning op die plaas Welgevonden net buite Louis Trichardt. Vriende het gaan ondersoek instel, nadat sy nie op selfoonboodskappe en -oproepe gereageer het nie.

Ten tye van die skryf van hierdie kort berig was die polisie steeds op die toneel besig met hul ondersoek. Alhoewel die polisie nog nie amptelik die voorval kon bevestig het nie, is alle aanduidings daar dat Kennealy vermoor is.

Kennealy was ‘n welbekende kunstenaar, ‘n groot diereliefhebber en aktivis vir menseregte. Sy was ook heel uitgesproke rondom plaasmoorde en het gereeld daaroor kommentaar gelewer op Facebook. Sy was ook ‘n bekwame politikus wat in ‘n stadium as plaaslike DA-raadslid gedien het. (‘n Meer volledige berig oor Kennealy se dood sal in hierdie week se Zoutpansberger verskyn).

Andries joined the Zoutpansberger and Limpopo Mirror in April 1993 as a darkroom assistant. Within a couple of months he moved over to the production side of the newspaper and eventually doubled as a reporter. In 1995 he left the newspaper group and travelled overseas for a couple of months. In 1996, Andries rejoined the Zoutpansberger as a reporter. In August 2002, he was appointed as News Editor of the Zoutpansberger, a position he holds until today.
