Woman missing after crocodile attack

 

The police in Thohoyandou have launched an investigation after a woman from Malavuwe Village was allegedly attacked by a crocodile.

According to provincial police spokesperson Lt-Col Moatshe Ngoepe, the 52-year-old woman and her friend was busy collecting water from the Mutshindudi River on Sunday. The water was to be used in a church ceremony. “While the women were busy collecting the water, the crocodile grabbed the 52-year-old woman and dragged her under the water,” said Ngoepe.

The woman’s friend fled and went to call for help. Local police were alerted and came to assist in the search.

According to our journalist on the scene, Elmon Tshikhudo, the search for the missing woman continued this morning.
