Awards for local policemen

Two Makhado SAPS police officers and a cleaner were among the police members who were rewarded for excellent service during the provincial police awards ceremony held at Bolivia Lodge in Polokwane last Friday night.

Lt-Col Nelson Tshililo, commander of visual policing, Const Irene Radzilani, cluster communication coordinator and Makhado station communicator officer, and a cleaner, Mr Victor Nebodzandala, were adjudged as the best in their respective fields.

Tshililo said they performed well because of the unity that exists between the police, the community and other stakeholders. “Things were not that good and, after identifying our challenges, we worked on them for positive results. The award did not come as a surprise as I had worked very hard,” he said.

Radzilani said she was excited that her efforts and loyalty were acknowledged at long last. “This is the highest reward I ever got, and it will motivate me and be a boost and make me work even harder,” she said.

Mr Victor Nebodzandala was also excited about the award. “We are very happy about the turn of events. It did not come easily as I had to work very hard and we finally made a turnaround at our station. We will, together with our other stakeholders, roll up our sleeves and work to improve where we are now,” he said.
