The well-known owner of MMK Insurance and Funeral Services, Mr Solomon “Missey” Mukwevho (62), passed away after a long illness at the Mediclinic Midstream Hospital last Wednesday (15 December).

His son, Mr Munei Mukwevho, said the family members were saddened by the loss but had fond memories of a remarkable man. “We will always remember him,” he said. He added that his father had worked tirelessly for the development of the company and his contributions would remain for all to see. “We have really lost a giant who was always in the forefront of our struggle for better service to his clients. We will miss him dearly.”

The chairperson of the South African Funeral Practitioners Association in Limpopo, Mr Sam Ntshauba, extended his condolences to the bereaved family. He said that the association would miss the good working relationship and the support they had received from the Mukwevho family. “The role he played in fostering unity, discipline, hard work and dedication within the family and the community shall always be cherished,” Ntshauba said.

“Our hearts are bleeding as we lost a pillar in our community and a hardworking person. We depended on him for advice, and we learnt a lot from him during his lifetime,” he added.
