Rockers too strong for Phandulaluvalo

Rockers FC showed Phandulaluvalo no mercy by brutally walloping them 4-0 in their MMK Administrators Soccer League promotional play-off match at the Makhuvha Stadium on Sunday.

Phandulaluvalo were aggressive in the opening minutes of the game, but their original stamina vanished as the game progressed. They missed two clear chances within the first 20 minutes of the game. That was a wake-up call to the defenders of Rockers.

Rockers took the lead in the 34th minute. Unarine Kudzingana was on target, following a square pass from Murhangeri Khosa. Phandulaluvalo replaced Ampfarisaho Kutama with Takalani Makhuvha towards the end of the first half. The score was still 1-0 when the teams adjourned for the half time break.

Rockers increased the margin six minutes into the last half. Kudzingana gave the ball a final touch, following a mix-up within the box. Phandulaluvalo replaced their keeper, Maanda Magaba, with Mulanga Nemudzivhadi after the second goal for Rockers.

Rockers scored two more goals within a short space of time. Ronald Kwinda scored with a bicycle kick in the 68th minute. Rockers were awarded a penalty after Kudzingana was brought down within the box. Tshifhiwa Ramaphosa made no mistake from the white spot.

Rockers could have made it 5-0 later in the game, but their Rastafarian midfielder, Mukondeleli Tshivhula, was unlucky. His close-range volley went wide with the keeper already beaten.
