Try Again are the Netshisaulu champions

 

Makuya Try Again were crowned the champions of the Abraham Netshisaulu Soccer Tournament at the Sambandou United Professionals grounds on Sunday.

Try Again beat Thenzheni Liverpool 7-6 in the final. The winner was determined through penalty shoot-out, following a 2-2 draw at the end of the regulation time. Try Again received R4 000 after the game and Thenzheni Liverpool R2 000.

The third-placed side, Sambandou United Professionals, received R1 500 during the ceremony. Phaphama FC, who obtained the fourth position, went home with R900. During the ceremony, the chairman of the organizing committee, Mr Azwidiwi Mandebvu, commended the players for their good behaviour throughout the tournament.

The teams that took part in the tournament were: Vondwe XI Bullets, Nweli Stone Breakers, Lukalo Hotspurs, Phandulaluvalo FC, Khubvi Dangerous Darkies, Matangari High Aims, Matangari Rising Stars, Thenzheni Liverpool, Shandani Dangerous Scorpions, Mahunguwi FC, Sambandou United Professionals, Gondeni FC, Phaphama FC and Makuya Try Again.

A local businessman, Mr Abraham Netshisaulu, after whom the tournament was named, was the main sponsor of the tournament.
