Mixed fortunes for Maximum Force

After losing 0-1 to Phungo All Stars on Saturday, Voweto Maximum Force rectified their mistakes and beat Mutandani Pull Together 2-1 in their MMK Administrators League match at the Zwavhavhili grounds on Sunday.

The visitors from Lwamondo-murahu-hathavha enjoyed ball possession from the onset, while Maximum Force relied on counter attacks.

Pull Together squandered numerous scoring chances within the first 20 minutes. Their right winger, Khathutshelo Nekhofhe, was unlucky in the 9th minute. He received a neat pass from Fhatuwani Mufamadi and miskicked the ball just outside the box.

The home side took the lead in the 24th minute. Fhulufhelo Mulovhedzi beat the keeper with a header following a scramble within the box. Maximum Force were leading 1-0 when the teams adjourned for the half time break.

Pull Together used all their substitution chances in the last half. The replacements were not good enough to stop Maximum Force from increasing the margin. Fhulufhelo Mulovhedzi completed his brace after forcing his way through the defence of Pull Together and sending the keeper the wrong way.

The keeper of Maximum Force, Lutendo Ramuntshi, and a defender, Mukovhe Maila, were reprimanded with cards for wasting time.

Pull Together pulled one back via Nyiko Khobani in the 78th minute. He unleashed a half volley from the edge of the box. Fhulufhelo Mulovhedzi of Maximum Force was given his marching orders later in the game following a second bookable offence.
