Free soccer lesson for TTM

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) will not easily forget what happened to them at the King Zwelthini Stadium in Durban last Saturday.

Not only did TTM or Vhadau Vha-Damani, as they are affectionately called, donate league points to Real Kings, but they were brutally walloped 1-5.

Phumelele Bengu, the team’s top goal scorer, scored a brace before the teams adjourned for the half time break. Nkosingiphiwe Phewa scored a hat-trick in the last half and the visitors from Limpopo pulled one back through Theo Woelf later in the game.

TTM dropped one step down the log following the humiliating defeat. They are now in the 7th spot with 19 points.

Modimeli Mokoena’s late strike was good enough to earn Super Eagles three important points at the expense of Richards Bay at the Goble Park Stadium in Bethlehem.

Pretoria University managed to collect a full complement of points, even though they were playing away from home. They beat Cape Town All Stars 2-1 at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town. Thabo Moseki opened the scoring for the students, while the second one came via Bradley Bruchhausen. Stars’ solitary goal was scored by Lucky Setelele.

Highlands Park maintained their lead by overwhelming Mthatha Bucks 3-1 at the Mthatha Stadium. Lindokuhle Mbatha, Mothobi Mvala and Peter Shalulile scored for the visitors from Thembisa, while Mpho Khumalo scored the Bucks’ solitary goal late in the game.

Ubuntu Cape Town and Uthongathi played to a 1-1 draw at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town. Uthongathi opened the scoring via Diyo Sibisi, but the struggling Ubuntu came back later in the game and found the equalizer through Waseem Isaacs.

Jomo Cosmos kept their title hopes alive by beating Royal Eagles 2-1 at the Vosloorus Stadium. Mxolisi Machupu scored Cosmos’ opening goal in the 16th minute, but the Eagles found the equalizer three minutes later. Cosmos reclaimed the lead through Lindani Mthambo in the dying minutes of the game.

Black Leopards played to a goalless draw with Witbank Spurs at the Thohoyandou Stadium.
