The Midway Pool Club were crowned as the Joe Mosena Pool champions after they beat Las Vegas Pool at Luvhalani on Saturday.
Sponsor Mr Richardt Mosena said that when he decided to sponsor the event, it clearly indicated that he wanted to serve members of the community to bring development of sport in the area. "We are part of this community and we are doing this to support local people," he said.
He praised the committee who managed the sport well and encouraged community members to keep it up to produce talent among the youth.
Mr Makonde Tshidavhu of the organising committee expressed appreciation to the sponsor. He appealed to other businesspeople to follow in Mosena's footsteps.
During the prize-giving ceremony, R5 000 of prize money was shared by four teams who played in the competition.
During the ceremony, Midway received R1 650 and a floating trophy, with Las Vegas collecting R1 100. Gadabi Pool Club (3rd) received R600 and Luvhalani Pool Club (4th) R400.

Kaizer Nengovhela started writing stories for Limpopo Mirror more than a decade ago, in 2 000. Prior to that he had a five year stint at Phala-Phala FM as sports presenter. In 2005 Kaizer received an award from the province's premier as Best Sports Presenter. The same year he was also nominated as Best Sports Reporter by the Makhado Municipality. Kaizer was awarded the Mathatha Tsedu award in 2014.
