The champions in the girls' category, Collins Chabane LFA, celebrate with their trophy.

Collins Chabane excels in FNB Tournament

 

Teams from the Collins Chabane Local Municipality were simply the best at the annual FNB 2010 Legacy Tournament that was staged at the Makhuvha Stadium last Saturday.

In the category for girls, Collins Chabane beat Thulamela LFA 4-3 in the final. The winner was determined through a penalty shoot-out.

In the final of the boys’ category, Collins Chabane beat Makhado LFA 1-0. The Collins Chabane LFA boys’ team were presented with a floating trophy and gold medals during a ceremony at the stadium after the final. Makhado LFA boys, who finished in the 2nd position, went home with silver medals.

The Collins Chabane girls’ team, were also presented with a floating trophy and gold medals. The runners-up, Thulamela LFA, received silver medals during the ceremony.

Individual awards were presented to Akani Mabasa of Collins Chabane (player of the tournament in the girls’ category), Kokeletso Mabasa also from Collins Chabane (best goalkeeper in the girls’ category), Hlulani Mahlaule of Collins Chabane (player of the tournament in the boys’ category) and Zwonaka Rambau from Makhado LFA (best goalkeeper in the boys’ category).
