TTM donate points to Ubuntu Cape Town

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) are still battling to come to terms with the result of their match last weekend. They were unexpectedly beaten 0-1 by Ubuntu Cape Town in their NFD match at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town on Sunday.

TTM were almost sure of going back to Thohoyandou with a point in hand when Ubuntu were awarded a penalty in the referee’s optional time.

Mike Sigwebela scored from the penalty spot to ensure that his side register their first victory for the season. Ubuntu are still languishing at the bottom of the log with 6 points, despite collecting the maximum league points for the first time this season.

TTM are still lying in the second position on the log, despite the defeat.

In an interview, TTM’s head coach, Mr Sello Chokoe, stated that they would make a comeback in their match against Maccabi FC at the Thohoyandou Stadium next Saturday, 24 November.

Stellenbosch FC maintained their leadership on the log, following their 3-2 victory over Jomo Cosmos at the Blue Downs Stadium in Cape Town. The pace setters opened their account in the 18th minute when Irish Rayners blasted in a rocket from inside the box. Cosmos retaliated through Carlton Mashumba, whose ground cutter was too hot for the Stellenbosch keeper to handle. Lawrence Skelem scored the second for Stellenbosch in the 49th minute, while their third goal came courtesy of Freddy Deano.

The visitors from Johannesburg reduced the margin via Themba Mabula later in the game.

Maccabi FC registered their second successive victory when they beat Uthongathi FC 2-0 at the Makhulong Stadium in Thembisa. Norman Tladi and Collins Mbusuma scored for the home side to ensure that the KZN side go back home with empty hands.

Cape Umoya United conceded a silly own goal in the dying minutes of the game when they lost 0-1 to Real Kings at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in Durban.

TS Sporting shared the spoils with Richards Bay when they played to a 2-2 draw at the Kabokweni Stadium outside Nelspruit. TS Galaxy played to a 1-1 draw with University of Pretoria at the Kameelrivier Stadium in Siyabuswa.

Ajax Cape Town lost 1-2 to Witbank Spurs at the Puma Rugby Stadium in eMalahleni on Sunday. Ajax’s head coach, Mr Mushin Ertugral, was fired a day after the game.
