Eight teams from different areas around Vhembe will meet on Sunday in the soccer challenge of former Moroka Swallows captain, Luvhengo Mungomeni.
The final will be played on Monday (17th). All the matches will take place at the Rabali Stadium.
The participating teams are Rabali Pull Together, Mikhado FC, Matanda Rockers, Berea FC, United Artists, Dipeni FC, Tshivhidulu Hungry Lions and Mpheni Home Defenders.
The sponsor of the tournament, Mr Matodzi Nesongozwi of Nesongozwi Mining Services, has indicated that his company is ploughing back what it gained from the community. “It is through the support from the community that my business is where it is today,” he added.
The organiser, Mr Luvhengo Mungomeni, stated that it was important that future stars' talent be identified at grassroots level. He applauded the sponsors for helping to identify the talent of the region's youth and added that the youth of this region should be proud of their talent.
The winners of the competition will receive R10 000, a floating trophy, new kit and gold medals, while the runners-up will receive R5 000, a kit and silver medals. The teams that end in the third and fourth position will get R2 500 and R2 000 respectively, as well as bronze medals and kit.
The toss will be held at Londolanani Day Centre at Rabali tomorrow, Saturday, at 12:00.

Kaizer Nengovhela started writing stories for Limpopo Mirror more than a decade ago, in 2 000. Prior to that he had a five year stint at Phala-Phala FM as sports presenter. In 2005 Kaizer received an award from the province's premier as Best Sports Presenter. The same year he was also nominated as Best Sports Reporter by the Makhado Municipality. Kaizer was awarded the Mathatha Tsedu award in 2014.
