Real Madrid booted out of MTG KO

Maniini Real Madrid will not take part in the next round of the MTG KO competition. They were booted out by Tshiulungoma FC, who beat them 4-3 at the Thohoyandou P-East grounds on Sunday.

The game was evenly contested, with both sides creating and wasting scoring opportunities. Real Madrid were the first to disappoint their enthusiastic supporters. Their overlapping midfielder, Rendani Rambuwani, was unfortunate in the ninth minute. He received a pre-cooked pass from Miyelani Manganye but shot aimlessly from close range. The ball went far wide.

The referee, Mr Ndavheleseni Ramashia, flashed the first yellow card in the 19th minute. Khethani Nyangolo of Tshiulungoma was booked for a continued argument with the referee.

Real Madrid were the first to blow the trumpet. Khawelo Maivha went loose from the middle of the park before unleashing a powerful half volley in the 54th minute. Luvhimbi Luvhimbi, the keeper of Tshiulungoma, watched helplessly as the ball hit the back of the net.

Livhuwani Makondelele of Tshiulungoma was also reprimanded with a card for arguing with the referee. Tshiulungoma fought back in the 74th minute. Livhuwani Makondelele dribbled past two defenders in a row and beat the keeper with a ground cutter.

Both sides squandered obvious scoring chances towards the end of the game. The score remained 1-1 until the end of the regulation time.

The winner was determined through penalty shoot-out. Tshiulungoma scored three from the white spot through Khethani Nyangolo, Mueletshedzi Mudau and Ndivhuwo Khathula, while Real Madrid converted two via Phophi Sithole and Ntiyiso Chauke.
