Leopards ready to maul Celtic

Thohoyandou Stadium will be the place to be on Sunday afternoon. This is where the Absa Premiership League match between Black Leopards and Bloemfontein Celtic will take place. Black Leopards are still to win a league match at home this season. Their best home result was a 1-1 draw against Highlands Park.

Following the dismissal of their technical staff last week, Lidoda duvha will be under the guidance of the caretaker coaches, Mr Morgan Shivambu and Sam Banda, on Sunday. Shivambu and Banda were on the team’s technical bench when the team played to a 2-2 draw with Stellenbosch FC at the Cape Town Stadium last Saturday.

Earlier this week, the chairman of the club, Mr David Thidiela, announced that they had appointed the former Polokwane City and Free State Stars coach, Mr Luc Eymael, as the team’s new head coach. The Belgian mentor will, however, only assume his duties next Tuesday, 1 October.

Just like Black Leopards, Bloemfontein Celtic failed to collect the maximum points last weekend. They played to a goalless draw with Chippa United at the Dr Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein on Saturday.

Leopards will pin their hopes on Lifa Hlongwane, Lesedi Kapinga and Karabo Tshepo for goals while their defenders, Thabo Matlaba, Pentjie Zulu are expected to keep their danger area clean from the onset to the bitter end.

Maritzburg United will host Chippa United at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg. Lamontville Golden Arrows will see the coming of Stellenbosch FC at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban, while Orlando Pirates and Cape Town City will rub shoulders at the Orlando Stadium. The other fixtures are: Kaizer Chiefs vs Baroka FC, Supersport United vs Amazulu and Highlands Park vs Polokwane City.
