Diski Leopards away to collect points

A busy weekend lies ahead of the Multichoice Diski Challenge teams. Five matches will be played at various venues throughout the country tomorrow, while the remaining three will be contested on Sunday.

Black Leopards will travel to Durban on Sunday. They will fight for league points against Lamontville Golden Arrows at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium, starting at 12:00. The Thohoyandou outfit must win the match to restore their lost pride. The young Leopards are currently lying at the bottom of the log. They are still to register a win after playing nine matches. Leopards have deposited only four points into their league account to date. Leopards lost 0-1 to Baroka FC at the Seshego Stadium last Saturday.

According to Mr Mongezi Bobe, the Leopards’ head coach, the time has come for them to start collecting points. Asked why they could not do so in the previous matches, Mr Bobe said that his boys had played good football in all their previous games, but the strikers had fumbled at the goal finish. He revealed that they were working on target shooting throughout the week, saying all his strikers were sharpened to kill.

Also on Sunday, Mamelodi Sundowns will host Maritzburg United at the Lucas Moripe Stadium outside Pretoria. Mamelodi Sundowns are in top form. They beat Bidvest Wits 2-0 last Saturday and moved to the top of the log.

Cape Town City will entertain Bidvest Wits at the Malta Park Sports Complex in Cape Town. Bloemfontein Celtic will be visitors to Chippa United at the Isaac Wolfson Stadium in Port Elizabeth.  Polokwane City will host Amazulu FC at the Seshego Stadium tomorrow. Supersport United will have a date with Highlands Park at the Lucas Moripe Stadium outside Pretoria. Stellenbosch FC will fly to Johannesburg where they will lock horns with Orlando Pirates at the Rand Stadium. Kaizer Chiefs will play against Baroka FC at the Dobsonville Stadium in Johannesburg.
