Leopards ready to maul Amazulu

After beating the stubborn Lamontville Golden Arrows 2-1 in their Absa Premiership League match at the Thohoyandou Stadium last Saturday, Black Leopards are geared to collect more significant league points when they host Amazulu FC at the same venue tomorrow afternoon. Should they manage to collect full points at the expense of Amazulu, Leopards are likely to jump to the sixth position on the log standings.

Lidoda duvha moved from the 12th to the ninth spot on the log after their victory over Golden Arrows. During an interview with Mr Luc Eymael, the Leopards’ head coach, he said that he was working on the strikers’ target shooting throughout the week. According to him that was influenced by the fact that they had squandered numerous scoring opportunities in their last two games against Chippa United and Lamontville Golden Arrows.

Mr Eymael said that his team could have scored at least four goals against Golden Arrows were it not for the strikers’ poor finishing. He reiterated the fact that he was not blaming anyone for saying that such things do happen in football.

Although they are still fighting for survival, Amazulu’s performance improved dramatically after appointing Mr Jozef Vukusic as the team’s head coach. The KZN side are lying in the second-last position on the log with 12 points, just one above the tail-enders, Chippa United.
