Huge interest in ABC Motsepe Vhembe derby

The much-awaited ABC Motsepe League match between Ablex United and Mikhado FC will be staged at the Makhado Show Grounds tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon.

Although they will be playing in front of their home crowd, Ablex must not expect an easy game. The spirits are high in the teams’ camps after winning their matches last weekend.

Ablex did the unexpected when they rose to the occasion and beat Ollesdal FC 2-1 at the Oscar Mphetha Stadium in Turfloop. Not only did Mikhado deposit full points into their league account, but they registered a historic victory with their 7-2 win over Tshakhuma RO Nandilani (TRON) at the Rabali Stadium in the Nzhelele Valley.

While Ablex will be fighting it with the aim of protecting the team’s pride, much is at stake for Mikhado. Mikhado are closely contesting for the league title. They are currently in the second position on the log with 39 points, four behind the pace setters, Magesi FC.

Mikhado have two matches in hand. Should they win their two outstanding matches, Mikhado will move to the top of the log.

The defenders of Mikhado, Thulani Mabizela and Rofhiwa Tshikovhi, must keep a close eye on the Ablex playmaker, Ndamulelo Mungadi, or else they will never know what hit them at the end of the game.

Tshakhuma RO Nandilani will host Makotopong Brazilians at the Tshisaulu Mbengeni Kone grounds.

The match not to be missed will be between Venda Football Academy and Magesi FC at the Tshifudi Stadium. Ngwaabe City Motors will have a date with Ditlou FC at the Jane Furse Stadium.

The other ABC Motsepe League weekend fixtures are: Polokwane City Academy vs Ngengeza FC, The Dolphins FC Mighty FC and Berachah Valley vs Ollesdal FC.
