Can Sealene Ladies stop Lacoste Morning Stars?

The struggle for promotion and to escape the relegation axe at the end of the season will continue among the teams affiliated to the Limpopo Stream of the Sasol Women’s League this weekend. The question that remains unanswered is whether Sealene Ladies FC will have enough strength to stop Lacoste Morning Stars when they meet at the Shayandima School Grounds on Sunday afternoon.

The spirit is high in the Morning Stars’ camp, following their 5-1 victory over Real Mighty Ladies at the Xikukwani Stadium outside Giyani last Saturday. Morning Stars are shining on top of the log standings after the victory. The Stars will pin their hopes on Fhulufhelo Munzhedzi, Omphulusa Ratshihule and Amanda Pinana for goals.

Morning Stars beat Sealene Ladies 5-3 in their first-round league match at the Lulekani Stadium outside Phalaborwa about three months ago. On the other hand, Sealene Ladies are in top form of late. They did the unexpected when they rose to the occasion and beat the other title chasers, Chippas United Ladies, 2-1 at the Lulekani Stadium last Saturday.

Chippas United Ladies will undertake a journey to Malamulele where they will fight for league points against Merwe United Ladies at the Merwe Stadium. Merwe lost 0-4 to Chippas in their first-round league match at the Makhuvha Stadium about four months ago. The likes of Mashudu Davhana, Mantotsi Mbulaheni and Khodani Ratshalingwa will be expected to keep the Merwe defenders running for cover throughout the game.

Botlokwa Ladies will lock horns with Real Mighty Ladies at the Tshitungulwane grounds in the Vuwani area. Tshandama Young Stars will host Sisters FC at the Tshandama Grounds. The other fixtures are University of Limpopo vs Skimzozo FC, Seven Stars Ladies vs Mandebele Happy Fighters, Capricorn Sports Development vs FC 50 Stars Ladies and Copper Belts vs Kanatla Ladies.
