Now or never for Mpheni Home Defenders

Most of the teams campaigning under the auspices of the ABC Motsepe League in the Limpopo Stream will play their second-last league matches this weekend. The match not to be missed will be between Mpheni Home Defenders and Ablex United that will be played at the Louis Trichardt Show Grounds on Saturday.

Home Defenders and United are in a two-horse race for the league championship. Home Defenders are shining on top of the stream with 29 points, while United are in the second spot with 27 points. Tomorrow’s match will be the last for Home Defenders this season. Should they manage to collect the maximum points against United tomorrow, Home Defenders will be declared the league champions for Stream A.

Should they play to a draw with Home Defenders, Ablex United will be expecting nothing less than victory in their final league match against Mikhado FC that will be played at the Rabali Stadium next Saturday.

The other match expected to attract a huge number of spectators will be the Nzhelele derby between Mikhado FC and Blackpool FC that will be played at the Rabali Stadium. The future of Mikhado and Blackpool as affiliates of the ABC Motsepe League is on the wire. Mikhado are lying in the third position from the bottom of the log, while Blackpool are at the tail end.

Giyani Happy Boys will enjoy the home-ground advantage in their match against Vondwe XI Bullets at the Xikukwani Stadium outside Giyani. The spirits are high in the Bullets’ camp after beating Musina United 1-0 at the Tshifudi Stadium last Saturday. The strikers for Bullets, Phathutshedzo Nemagovhani and Emmanuel Netshilema, are in top form of late.

Munaca FC will have a date with Musina United at the Louis Trichardt High School Grounds.
