The Hollywoodbets Mabaleng Development team defeated Madombidzha Hungry City Lion FC 3-1 in the final of the Collins Sebola Group 2024 Cup this past weekend. For their effort, the team won R5,000, a floating trophy, and medals.
The Mabaleng Development team had to work hard to reach the final. They faced Mubva All Stars in the semi-final and narrowly beat them 1-0. In the other semi-final, Madombidzha Hungry City Lions played against Tshikota Chelsea FC, winning 2-1.
Mabaleng’s coach, Mr Hangwani “Gundas” Mulaudzi, attributed the victory to thorough preparation. He said that they had trained for several weeks before the tournament.
Makhado Local Football Association’s general secretary, Mr Tshifhiwa Phaswana, expressed his satisfaction with the way the tournament was organised and with the conduct of the players. He thanked the organisers, Mamu Community Development, as well as the event sponsors, the Collins Sebola Group, for giving back to the community.
Collins Sebola Group CEO Mr Collins Sebola said he was pleased with how the tournament had progressed and with the skills displayed by the various teams.
