Berea FC are still in high spirits after being crowned champions of the Zwonaka zwa ha Makhale Soccer Tournament. The final match took place at the Tshivhilwi Tshiberetheni Grounds last Sunday, where Berea secured a 1-0 victory against Vondwe XI Bullets.

Berea’s path to the final included a hard-fought win over Tshituni FC, whom they defeated 9-8 in a penalty shootout. During the post-match ceremony, Berea were awarded R15,000, a floating trophy, gold medals, and a soccer kit.

This victory marks Berea FC's second trophy in the span of three weeks. Known as Mutshotshonono, they were also crowned champions of the Funanani Ndou Attorneys Soccer Tournament at the Khubvi Benjie’s Grounds three weeks ago.

Vondwe XI Bullets received R7,000, silver medals, and a soccer kit for their efforts. The third- and fourth-placed teams, Tshituni FC and Musasenda Big Five, were awarded R4,000 and R3,000 respectively. The teams eliminated in the quarter-finals—Buluni Happy Boys, Nweli Stone Breakers, Madridtas FC, and Mulindathavha Ocean Swallows—each received R1,000.

A total of 32 teams from Vhembe participated in this year’s tournament.
