Triegies ryg die podiumplekke in tydens Tour de Plaas

Die derde ronde van die Limpopo Skole XCO-bergfietsliga is Saterdag, 17 Augustus, by Hoërskool Merensky beslis in die byeenkoms bekend as die Tour de Plaas. Beide Hoër- en Laerskool Louis Trichardt se trappers het beïndruk met talle podiumplekke.

Hoërskool Louis Trichardt se fietsryers kom terug huis toe met vier podiumplekke. Dit het ingesluit nog 'n eerste plek deur stertrapper Elané Visser in die afdeling vir sub-Junior meisies, terwyl nog een van Triegies se belowende jong fietsryers, Eli Signer, dieselfde ouderdomsgroep vir sub-Junior seuns gewen het. André van Ree is ook nie onbekend aan die podium nie en trap vir homself 'n tweede plek los in die afdeling vir Youth seuns, met Jacques du Preez wat vir homself 'n derde plek in die Junior-afdeling vir seuns beklink.

Buiten die podiumplekke is daar ook heelwat Triegies wat onder die Top 10 eindig in die hoërskole afdeling. Dit het ingesluit Cara Bruce (5de sub-Junior meisies), Amelia Scheepers (5de Junior meisies), Brendan Bruce (6de Junior seuns), Chrizette Odendaal (6de Youth meisies), Lourens Oosthuizen (8ste sub-Junior seuns), Leeanne van Heerden (8ste Junior meisies), Liané Smit (8ste sub-Junior meisies), Renette Nel (9de Youth meisies), Shoni Mathekgane (9de Junior meisies), Mia le Roux (10de Junior meisies) en Matthew Lee (10de Junior seuns).

Ná afloop van Saterdag se derde ronde loop Hoërskool Louis Trichardt steeds gemaklik voor op die provinsiale punteleer met 580 punte. Hoërskool Merensky is tweede met 319 punte en Hoërskool Pietersburg derde met 216 punte.

Laerskool Louis Trichardt se trappers presteer eweneens goed in die laerskole-afdeling, ook met 'n paar podiumplekke. Die jong Evené Botha het 'n skitterende wedren gery en wen die afdeling vir sub-Nipper meisies. Drian de Swardt trap op sy beurt vir homself 'n tweede plek los in die afdeling vir laerskole sub-Junior seuns, terwyl Mauritz Meiring en Mia Venter derde eindig in onderskeidelik die afdeling vir Sprogs seuns en meisies.

Buiten vir bogenoemde podiumplekke was daar ook heelwat Top-10 plekke vir Laerskool Louis Trichardt. In die afdeling vir sub-Nipper seun was AJ Moulder 5de, Pierre Willemse 7de en JG Hammann 8ste, terwyl Nirieke Meiring 6de was in dieselfde afdeling vir meisies. Luan Smit eindig 7de in die Nipper seuns-afdeling, terwyl Lihané Meiring 10de was in die afdeling vir Sprogs meisies. Klara Swart was 4de in die afdeling vir laerskole sub-Junior meisies, terwyl Aiden Bruce op sy beurt 4de was in dieselfde afdeling vir seuns.

Twee tuisskolers van Louis Trichardt het ook die naweek gery. Mekyla Prinsloo einde 9de in die afdeling vir Sprogs meisies, terwyl André Prinsloo 35ste was in dieselfde afdeling vir seuns.

Ná afloop van die naweek die liga beklee Laerskool Louis Trichardt steeds 'n tweede plek op die provinsiale punteleer met 336 punte. In die eerste plek is Laerskool Pietersburg Oos met 495 punte en Laerskool Tzaneen derde met 258 punte.

Die laaste ronde van die provinsiale XCO-skoleliga sal op 7 September op plaaslike bodem beslis word, met Hoërskool Louis Trichardt wat as gasheer sal optree.

New leaders for Thulamela LFA

New leaders were elected during the association’s elective congress, held at the Thohoyandou Indoor Sports Centre last Saturday. The association was placed under administration in December last year, following several months of internal leadership disputes.
