Worship Around the Fire Revival Concert is homecoming for Takie

Entertainment - Date: 23 June 2024

Well-known gospel sensation Takie Ndou says the Worship Around the Fire Revival Concert is like a homecoming for him. The free concert is the brainchild of legendary sound engineer Hulisani Mavhutha of the Journey Worship Network and is hosted by Khumbe Independent AFM Church’s founder, Dr Athalia Mavhutha, on 29 June from 14:00 to 20:30.

Concert organiser Hulisani Mavhutha said preparations had reached the final stage. “We have a beautiful lineup, comprising the best in the gospel arena, among them Rofhiwa Manyaga, Muvhuso Masakona, Gundo G, Devine N, and Itani Mphaga. The event, one of its kind, aims to restore the spirit of worship in the House of the Lord. We are creating a spirit-filled network of worshippers from all denominations and affording them a space to be intimate with the Lord,” he said.

Explaining the event, which will be an annual concert, Mavhutha said that, on the night, believers will be seated around fire pits while the worshippers will minister on stage. “For health and safety reasons, we are partnering with Shudu Primary Health Care Clinic and MAP Fire Extinguisher Services. This is a night to remember, and apart from the beautiful music, there will be a sermon by Pastor Timothy Masakona,” Mavhutha said.

Speaking about the event, psalmist Takie Ndou, who has recorded a live DVD titled “The Glory”, said this was a homecoming for him. “I am so excited to be home again and to be part of this historic show. I was born in this church, was mentored here, and I am what I am today because of the foundation laid here. I am going to perform two or three songs from my latest album. Those present will also be lucky to see me perform my latest single ‘U Netulusa Muya Wanga’. Performing with my friends like Rofhiwa Manyaga will be a cherry on top. I promise fireworks, and I can’t wait for the night,” he said.

Entrance is free. For more information about the show, contact Hulisani Mavhutha at 082 954 3076 and Tshilidzi Mavhutha at 073 590 3023.
