Phadziri donates R174 000 to education

The Phadziri Bus company donated another R174 000 to the education of pupils in the Sinthumule/Kutama area during a ceremony at Madombidzha last Thursday.

The company first donated R245 000 to finance winter classes and later donated R270 000 to the autumn classes of the Sinthumule/Kutama enrichment project. The latest donation of R174 000 will finance the stationery and the payment of the teachers during the spring classes.

Mr Simeon Mufamadi of Phadziri said the donation would also help to instil a spirit of cooperation between businesspeople and education. “Businesspeople and educators need to develop a good working relationship to restore moral regeneration for the benefit of our children. Teachers need our cooperation as a company to build a strong nation and I urge other companies to support the development of education in their respective villages,” he added

Mr Charles Lishivha of the Sinthumule/Kutama enrichment project was on cloud nine after receiving the donation. “This is one of the most memorable days in the history of education,” he said. According to him, an educated and independent nation always achieves its goal, as it will always be easier to work together and to plan for their future.

Rivoni School for the Blind nearing completion - at last

The Rivoni School for the Blind in in Njakanjaka village in the Vhembe District has 167 learners from Grade R to Grade 12. The school was started in 2016 by the Rivoni Society for the Blind, founded in June 1975 at Elim Hospital by late Swiss doctor Erwin Sutter. The society later transferred responsibility for the school to the Department of Education.
