GIYANI – The Giyani community has witnessed another step towards what can only be described as a good and progressive move, with the establishment of the Black Management Forum (BMF).
The BMF was officially launched in Giyani last week Thursday evening at a glittering function held at the Golf Club. It came hardly a month after the launching of the Vutshila Women Empowerment Consortium in the same area at Limpopo Lodge.
According to the BMF leader in the province, Dr Bonanenture Nyathi, the launch, will remain a hallmark in the history of the life of the Giyani community generally and the business section in particular. The newly elected chairperson of BMF in Giyani, Mr Silence Makhubele said they face problems and frustrations resulting from the transitional period of freedom.
He lashed out at "some of our people who blamed anything and everything except themselves. Whereas the solution is with them. The focus should not only be on their lamentations but they should also be innovative and courageous in confronting the situation facing them. To some of us the answer to part of our woes lies in the BMF. The sole requirement is within our capacity to make the BMF work," he added.
According to him, the BMF is of real value to the upgrading of the standards of the living of the people.
Makhubele said men and women should create opportunities to identify and take charge of such opportunities regardless of what it takes as they engage with that process. He said the community should take advantage of the opportunities given by the new dispensation, which allows people to realise their dreams.
"We need to move with speed to defining what it is that we should put our concentration and efforts on now that the other responsibility has been largely achieved. The answer to the question is we need to open up opportunities and occupy them for proper governance including venturing into the terrain of business to rationalise the economy of our country," he said.
