Triplets a perfect gift for mother

News - Date: 18 August 2006

Mrs Reinett Morobeni (33) of Ka-Nwaxinyamani gave birth to triplets in the Elim Hospital on July 26 this year.

When the two boys, Hlulani and Hlayisa, were born, they were healthy and energetic, while their sister, Nyiko, had a problem of constant vomiting. Reports from the hospital indicate that the toddler’s condition is improving. At birth, Hlulani, weighed 1,58kg, Hlayisa, 1,68kg, while Nyiko weighed 1,36kg.

The trio might be the first triplets in the history of their family and the village. Earlier this year, another set of triplets was born at the hospital, while quadruplets were born in December last year.

Upon visiting the three newest Nkwinika family members last Friday, Mirror found the triplets looking beautiful and happy. They were also breathing on their own. The happy mother indicated that she had more other three children. Her first child, Rhulani (a boy), was born in 1993, followed by a girl, Tsakani, in 1995 and Lesley in 1997. “I am very happy to give birth to these triplets. I love them, and this is a blessing from God. I was also born with a twin, but unfortunately she passed away,” said Reinett.

She further indicated that they were surviving with her children’s grandmother's pension grant, as their father is unemployed. Reinett further indicated that she is feeling well. The proud father, Mr Gezani Rodgers Nkwinika (40), who managed to secure a piece job in Phalaborwa, said that he is very excited about having been blessed with the triplets by God. He indicated that it would be difficult for him to feed his kids constantly after his piece job has come to an end.

According to Marole, the mother will be discharged from the hospital as soon as the doctors rule that Nyiko's condition is satisfactory. The children’s father appealed to people to assist with clothes and toys for the triplets.
