Mr Wally Radau, the assistant coach of Makhitha Oscar Stars, was left frustrated when his side played to a goalless draw with Madombidzha Western Stars in their MMK Administrators league match at the Makhitha grounds on Saturday.
Oscar Stars are the current log leaders of Stream E in the Administrators League.
Radau revealed what he had told his troops during the half-time breather, before adding that he was still determined to make history with his side. “Our boys made a mistake in the first half, so I just told them that we have to go out and beat these guys,” he said.
"I am sure even our fans are happy to see how we played, and my message to them is that Oscar Stars are there to make things happen. We still want to write history and we want to win this league. The only thing we can do is to make use of our chances. If you play football and you miss chances like these, then you’ll end up drawing the game instead of winning.”
The coach of Western Stars, Mr Maanda Themeli, admitted he was not happy about the fact that his side had played to a draw with Oscar. “My players did whatever they had to do. There is a difference between being tough and tactically disciplined,” he added.
According to Themeli, his players are practising what they are doing during training and that will help them in future matches. “You need a little bit of belief in what you are doing,” he said.
