One of the affiliates in the ABC Motsepe League, Munaca FC, have bolstered their technical department by acquiring the services of Mr Moses Muthelo. Muthelo will occupy the position of assistant coach of the team. The position was vacated by Mr Mashudu “Coolio” Ndou, who resigned three weeks ago.
In his resignation letter, Ndou stated that he was resigning to pursue his business ideas. He said, however, that he would still be available to assist when needed. Ndou has assisted the team’s head coach, Mr Solly Luvhengo, in their first six league games.
During an interview with the chief executive officer of the club, Mr Michael Muzila, he said that they were convinced that they had appointed the right person to the position. He said that Muthelo was an expert on development football, while Luvhengo was a vastly experienced professional coach.
Muzila said that they were in the process of signing more experienced players to make the job easier for the technical staff. They had just signed up the former Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila defender, Rofhiwa Tshikovhi. Muthelo is not a new name in the history of local football. He played for several teams, including Black Leopards, in the early nineties.
When asked if he thought his presence at Munaca would assist the team to win the league championship at the end of this season, Muthelo said that anything was still possible when one took into account that most of the teams had completed their first-round league programme over the past weekend.
Munaca are lying in the third position on the log standings with 11 points, seven behind the pace setters, Mpheni Home Defenders. Munaca’s next league fixture will be against Musina United, with whom they will lock horns at the Old Mine Stadium in Musina on Saturday.
