The long-awaited Safa Men’s League provincial promotional playoff matches will be played at Mahwelereng Stadium in Mokopane this weekend.
The teams representing the five Safa Limpopo Regional Leagues — Rabali Pull Together (Vhembe), Ramatlaohle FC (Waterberg), Makotopong Bahumi FC (Capricorn), Phalaborwa United (Mopani) and Moganyaka Mighty Blues (Sekhukhune) — will battle it out for promotion to the ABC Motsepe League.
The head coach of Rabali Pull Together, Mr Lutendo Mulaudzi, is confident his team will represent the Safa Vhembe Regional League with pride. He said they had played three friendly matches against Black Leopards, the Nzhelele squad and the Sibasa squad at Rabali Stadium over the past two weeks to gauge the team’s readiness for the playoffs.
Mulaudzi said the three players who had sustained injuries during the game against Black Leopards would be available for the playoff matches. Each team will play four games in the tournament. The top two teams will be promoted to the ABC Motsepe League.
Rabali’s opening match will be against Phalaborwa United at 10:00. They will then face Makotopong Bahumi in their second fixture on Saturday. On Sunday, they open against Ramatlaohle FC and will wrap up the day’s programme with a match against Moganyaka Mighty Blues at 16:00.
As a way of motivating the players in their playoff campaign, Safa Vhembe presented two sets of soccer kit to Rabali Pull Together two weeks ago.
